Race to October Pick ’Em — Official Rules
Hat Trick Race to October Pick ’Em — Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR STANDING OR CHANCE OF WINNING.
1. Sponsor and contest period
The Hat Trick Race to October Pick ’Em (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Hat Trick NYC, Brooklyn, New York (“Sponsor”). The Contest begins when the Contest page is first published and made publicly accessible and ends September 28, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Sponsor’s systems are the official timekeeping devices.
2. Eligibility
Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who are at least 21 years old when entering. Void where prohibited. Employees, contractors, and immediate family or household members of Sponsor are not eligible. Limit one verified Shop customer account, one entry identity, and one public nickname per person.
3. Free entry and Hat Bucks
No purchase or payment is required or accepted. A purchase cannot improve ranking, scoring, eligibility, or the chance of winning. Eligible players use a verified Shop customer account and begin with 1,000 Hat Bucks. Hat Bucks are fictional contest points only: they have no cash, purchase, discount, credit, or redemption value and cannot be bought, sold, transferred, redeemed, or withdrawn.
4. Making picks
Players may select the winner of an eligible Major League Baseball game shown on the Contest board and risk 25, 50, 100, or all available Hat Bucks. One winner pick is permitted per person per game. Each pick displays its point-return multiplier before submission. Submitted picks cannot be changed or cancelled and lock when the official score source shows the game has started. Browser clocks do not control locking.
5. Scoring and settlement
The risk amount is deducted when a pick is accepted. A correct pick receives the displayed potential return; an incorrect pick receives no return. Results use the final score reported by the Contest’s score source. Scores may be delayed. If data is missing or ambiguous, a pick remains pending until Sponsor can verify the result.
Postponed or suspended games remain pending if they are expected to resume. If a game is cancelled or cannot reasonably be completed and verified before final standings are certified, Sponsor may void the pick and restore the risk amount. Sponsor may correct an obvious scoring or data error before certifying the final standings.
6. Daily clubhouse refill
Once per America/Chicago calendar day, a verified player whose balance is below 25 Hat Bucks may restore the balance to exactly 25. The refill is free, cannot be purchased, does not activate at 25 or more, and unused refills do not accumulate.
7. Standings and winner
After all eligible picks are settled or resolved, the provisional winner is the eligible player ranked first by: (1) current Hat Bucks balance; then, if tied, (2) most correct settled picks; then, if still tied, (3) earliest verified account join time. Sponsor may review entries before certifying the result.
8. Prize
One winner receives one collaborative Hat Trick original-design experience resulting in the creation and delivery of exactly one physical, one-of-one custom hat for the winner’s personal use. Total approximate retail value: $39.99 USD. The consultation and collaboration have no separate monetary value. The prize does not include a production run, additional hats, a retail or wholesale release, manufacturing rights, licensing rights, ownership of Sponsor’s production materials, or any right to sell or otherwise commercialize the design. The design, materials, sizing, production schedule, and final execution are subject to Sponsor approval. The design may not use unlicensed third-party names, logos, trademarks, characters, or other protected material. The prize is non-transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and may be substituted by Sponsor only with a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.
9. Winner verification and notification
The provisional winner will be identified on the Contest standings and given claim instructions. The provisional winner must respond within seven days, verify identity, age, residency, and other eligibility requirements, and complete any reasonably required declaration or release. Failure to respond, ineligibility, refusal of the prize, or failure to comply may result in forfeiture and selection of the next eligible player under the same ranking rules.
10. Fair play
Automated entry, multiple accounts, identity manipulation, unauthorized access, exploiting score delays or data errors, corrupted or fabricated entries, interference with the Contest, or other attempts to obtain an unfair advantage are prohibited. Sponsor may disqualify affected accounts, reverse improper point activity, and preserve records needed to investigate abuse. Sponsor may review eligibility, account activity, picks, scoring, and technical records before certifying a winner. Sponsor’s good-faith decisions regarding administration and scoring are final, subject to applicable law.
11. Technical conditions
To the extent permitted by law, Sponsor is not responsible for interrupted service, delayed, missing, or incorrect third-party score data, unauthorized intervention, corrupted or lost entries, device, browser, authentication, network, hosting, or database failures, or other technical problems beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control. Sponsor may correct scoring and data errors. If the Contest cannot operate fairly or as intended, Sponsor may pause, modify, extend, suspend, or cancel it and, where practical and lawful, determine a winner from eligible activity reliably recorded before the problem.
12. Privacy
The Contest uses verified Shop authentication and a public nickname. Public standings show only nickname and Contest statistics. Sponsor does not display Shopify names or email addresses on the leaderboard. Information used to administer or verify the prize will be handled only for Contest administration, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and prize fulfillment, consistent with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. Entry requires recorded acceptance of the current Official Rules and Privacy Policy; materially revised rules may require renewed acceptance.
13. General conditions
By participating, entrants agree to these rules and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, release Sponsor and its service providers from claims arising from participation, administration, technical operation, or prize use, except where prohibited. Nothing in these rules limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived. The Contest is governed by the laws of New York without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in a court of competent jurisdiction in New York, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
14. No affiliation
City labels, standard abbreviations, and score information are used solely to identify publicly played games. Where more than one club shares a city label, AL or NL is added only to distinguish the games. This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, associated with, or affiliated with Major League Baseball, any MLB club, Shopify, Shop, any prediction platform, or any regulator. All third-party trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
